Heat-stress risk mapping

Heat risk depends on more than air temperature. Humidity, sun and wind can make outdoor conditions far more dangerous than the thermometer suggests. We map that with WBGT, a standard heat-stress index, using climate-model and reanalysis data. The interactive map shows indicative outdoor heat-stress patterns worldwide at roughly 25 km resolution, for present-day baseline conditions and future scenarios out to 2060.

The map is free to use. For organisations with many sites, the same data is also available as a bulk screening report or an API. Both are still in development and not yet available to buy — but you can try the screening report as a free demo (it asks for your email so we can follow up). There's also a form below to register interest.

Nothing to sign up for or buy. This just tells us you're interested so we can let you know when it's ready. A line or two about your sites helps.

We use what you submit only to keep you posted as this develops. It's stored on our own server, never shared with third parties, and removed after ~180 days if it doesn't go anywhere.

Scientific use & limitations

Asset-level hazard screening to prioritise further assessment. It is not a worker-safety or regulatory-compliance determination, and not a site measurement. Resolution is 0.25 deg (~25 km), so it does not capture urban heat-island, microclimate, or street-level detail.

Projected risk estimate, not a validated forecast; future extremes may be under-estimated. It is not a substitute for on-site assessment when making safety, staffing, or compliance decisions.
